Powering a challenger bank with a strategic approach to generative AI

Challenger bank

We developed a strategy to roll out generative AI in their operations to reduce cost-to-income ratio.

Background

A challenger bank wanted to see how generative AI could be used strategically. They were having trouble deploying AI models, and integrating their Data Science teams into the wider business. The bank needed a partner that could help them think strategically about how AI could be used to improve their KPIs.

Solution

We created a strategy that focused on driving down their cost-to-income ratio. We proposed a streamlined risk policy to better manage generative AI risks, while reducing unnecessary barriers for developers. We also advised on organisational and infrastructural changes to support the long-term effective use of generative AI. To kickstart their strategy, we delivered a report analysing 100+ use cases, and highlighted the top three – along with detailed plans for their development.

Impact

Our strategy has created a blueprint for the bank that can significantly improve their cost base.
