Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

FY 31 March 2025

This statement is made by Faculty Science Limited (“Faculty”, “we”, “us”, “our”) pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2025.

Our Commitment

Faculty remained committed to eradicating slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking (collectively, “modern slavery”) in all its forms. We believe that all individuals deserve to live and work in freedom and dignity.

We are committed to continuous improvement in our policies and practices to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking, and committed to fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to human tracking. This policy applies to all the decisions and actions of everyone within our organisation.

The statement reflects Faculty’s commitment to preventing modern slavery and outlines the measures we have implemented against it.

Our Organisation

Faculty is a leading applied AI company, providing cutting-edge AI services and consulting, which operates primarily in the United Kingdom. Faculty works with a diverse range of clients across numerous sectors. Our expertise spans areas such as data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, helping clients achieve digital transformation and solve complex challenges. Faculty currently has no parent company or subsidiaries.

Given that Faculty’s primary business activities are in the AI Technology sector, Faculty is not exposed to the type of labor often associated with modern slavery ourselves, or in our supply chains. Faculty primarily acts as a supplier itself and performs the majority of its work in-house and directly with clients, which inherently limits the complexity of our downstream supply chains.

Supply Chains

As Faculty’s core business model is providing AI services and consulting, our supply chains are primarily software and technology providers, professional services, office suppliers and services, and recruitment agencies.

  • Software and Technology Providers: Licensing and subscriptions for various software tools, cloud computing services, and technological infrastructure essential for our AI development and delivery.

  • Professional Services: Engagement with professional service providers such as legal, accounting, auditing, and other consulting firms.

  • Office Supplies and Services: Procurement of general office supplies, IT equipment, facilities management, and administrative services.

  • Recruitment Agencies: Engagement with agencies for the recruitment of our highly skilled workforce.

Due to the nature of these services and the geographical focus of our primary suppliers, we currently consider our direct supply chain to have a generally low inherent risk of modern slavery.

Our commitment in practice

Faculty is committed to identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to modern slavery within our own operations and supply chains. Our approach is systematic and proportionate to the identified risks, focusing on the protection of workers. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through annual review of this statement and related policies and investigate any concerns raised through our reporting mechanisms.

The Faculty Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring this statement complies with our legal obligations, and for its annual review.

Supply Chain Management and Due Diligence

Our approach to managing modern slavery and human trafficking risks in our procurement and supply chain includes:

For our primary suppliers we conduct high-level risk assessment due diligence against key modern slavery risk indicators. This includes online research and, where appropriate, reviewing their own published modern slavery statements.

We are prepared to terminate supplier relationships if we become aware that a supplier has engaged in any modern slavery or human trafficking acts. As noted above, given the nature of our business, our use of suppliers is limited and we are not exposed to a high risk of modern slavery in our supply chains.

Responsible Recruitment

Faculty is committed to ensuring responsible recruitment practices and safeguarding against the employment of individuals in situations of modern slavery.

  • Before a candidate commences employment, we carry out thorough employment checks to ensure that they have the necessary documentation to legally work in the UK and to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Employees who are not based in the UK will be required to undertake equivalent checks for the country in which they are based in.

  • All offers of employment at Faculty are subject to satisfactory completion of the employment checks.

  • Our recruitment policies emphasise fair treatment, non-discrimination, and the prohibition of forced labour or exploitation of any kind.

  • We engage with reputable recruitment agencies and adhere to ethical employer practices throughout the recruitment process.

Our Employees

We offer escalation routes and maintain reporting mechanisms for employees to report any concerns or suspected incidents of modern slavery, such as potential exploitation or abuse. We aim to take swift and appropriate action to investigate and address concerns to protect the rights of all individuals within our organisation.

Related policies

All Faculty policies are built on our principles. Faculty has established a governance framework and operates a number of internal policies that contribute to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, ensuring ethical and transparent business conduct. All employees and external parties, including suppliers, have access to our escalation route to raise a grievance. The grievance procedure can be used to raise issues between colleagues, between an employee and management/Faculty or between an employee and a Faculty client/contractor, including in respect to modern slavery concerns. We are committed to providing a working environment free from harassment and bullying to ensure all staff are treated, and treat others, with dignity and respect. We also have a procedure to cover the genuine concerns that an employee may have about suspected wrongdoing within the organisation. Any employee who raises concerns in good faith can do so on a confidential basis without fear of reprisal or victimisation.

Our policies are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice guidance issued by HM Government and international standards.

Faculty’s Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement was approved by the Faculty Board of directors, or a committee thereof, on 18th June 2025 and is approved for annual release.
