Faculty are delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Postgate as a Senior Adviser.

Working closely with Faculty’s leadership, Matthew will help shape and steer the AI transformation programmes that Faculty runs with large organisations across the UK economy.

Matthew has extensive experience leading and advising on technology transformations across sectors including media and telecommunications, defence, energy, private equity, and infrastructure.

Until 2021, Matthew was Chief Technology Officer at the BBC and a member of the executive board. Across 17 years, he built, scaled and ran systems that reached over 500m people. These systems, which include BBC iPlayer, helped the BBC become a world-leading digital media organisation. In his BBC roles, he also shaped strategy, product, and technology.

Today, Matthew serves as a Non-Executive Director and Adviser to several public and private organisations, including chairing NATO’s technology committee and sitting on the boards of Verian and Arqiva.

His insights and leadership will be instrumental in helping Faculty’s clients transform their organisational performance through safe, impactful, and human-centric AI.

“It’s critical for the competitiveness of the UK economy that organisations are able to navigate AI driven change. The Faculty team are uniquely well placed to support existing and emerging companies with this transition. They are a group I have worked with in the past and have a huge admiration for the impact they have already had; I’m looking forward to working alongside them.”

Matthew Postgate

"The AI era is now - not at some distant point in the future - and businesses that fail to adapt will go bust. As leaders navigate this change, they need genuinely expert advice. Few executives boast a CV of Matthew's quality, and we are delighted to have him join and assist our clients on their AI transformation journey."
